The MediaFire Video Server integrates automation software within the video server hardware to provide powerful and easy to operate on-air systems at an unusually affordable price. MediaFire's integrated automation takes full advantage of MPEG-2 server technology and works with files rather than timecode, providing full-featured on-air automated playout at considerably less than the price of separate automation and video server systems.
As a distributed IP network-based system, MediaFire also permits corporate sharing of segmented programming and remote monitoring of playlists.
Direct Interfaces to Media Delivery Services
MediaFire features direct interfaces with Pathfire™, DG FastChannel® , and Vyvx® so that you can receive and play out syndicated programming and commercial spots with virtually no prep work required. A direct interface to Pathfire™ lets you receive and play to air syndicated programming with no intervening manual tasks or equipment. MediaFire automatically receives syndicated media in its native format from the Pathfire™ Receive Server and stores the programming for playout via MediaFire's own integral automatic playout functionality or via an external automation system using standard VDCP protocol. Likewise, material from DG FastChannel® , Fast Channel and Vyvx® transfers directly to the MediaFire ready for playout. MediaFire virtually eliminates the time and work of storing, preparing and airing syndicated programming and commercial spots.
It's fast - programming and spots on the Pathfire™, DG FastChannel® , FastChannel and Vyvx® servers are immediately available for playout by the MediaFire. Or an external automation system can request the syndicated show for immediate playout. It's easy - the material is already prepped and ready to air. There is no need to spend time segmenting the program or transferring it to baseband for processing.
Automated Scheduled Recording and Frame-Accurate MPEG-2 Trimming
MediaFire's ingest channels include its Automated Scheduled Record feature allowing the operator to schedule the automatic recording of satellite feeds. Segmenter Software is included with the inputs and provides frame-accurate cutting and trimming of MPEG-2 material.
Built-In Asset Management
MediaFire's powerful Asset Manager automatically transfers media to each playout server as required and removes it from inventory when it becomes outdated. Its functions include pulling media from archive storage when necessary and purging and deleting media as defined by the user.Available in HD
MediaFire is available with full HD ingest and playout. MediaFire's HD playout provides the ability to play out both HD and SD material simultaneously. If the original media is HD, not only will the system output the HD stream, but it also downconverts the material to simultaneously play out an SD signal. As well, if the original media is SD, it upconverts the material to simultaneously output an HD signal.Features:
